Ore Samples hosts free public readings and features conversations and interviews with some of
Canada's finest writers of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, songs, and everything in-between.
The public readings typically feature one visiting professional writer, one local writer, and when possible one local performing artist performing original work (i.e. spoken word, storytelling, sound poetry, songs with strong writing, etc). All readers and performers will receive an honorarium.
Visiting professional writers featured at Ore will receive an honorarium, accommodation at the Victoria Inn in Flin Flon, Manitoba, and meals. Travel arrangements are the responsibility of the visiting writer.
Ore urges writers and performers to bring books, chapbooks and recordings for sale at the event. Ore takes no commission from the sales. Ore cannot accept shipments of books from publishers.
Ore Samples readings take place at the Flin Flon Public Library, a warm and friendly centre for communities on both sides of the Manitoba-Saskatchewan border.
